OK Go

After surviving the storm, I gassed up in Lebanon, MO and made my way into Oklahoma, en route to Tulsa. The skies were considerably brighter. With sun over head and the heat rising, I pulled through downtown Tulsa around 8pm, my scheduled arrival. There was not much life in the streets, but the city was clean and organized. I embarked onto Route 66, in search of a hotel. Suddenly possessed by a second wind, I was ready to head for Oklahoma City, where I arrived a little after 10pm. The city was bursting with life. Bricktown is where it's at. Clubs, minor league baseball field, bars, restaurants, hotels. It is awesome. And the government buildings, museums, and concert halls are beautiful. Wonderful architecture, impeccable organization. Finally, a vibrant city. It is Saturday night, after all.

Of course all the hotels downtown were booked so I'm sitting at a Days Inn on the outskirts for fifty bucks. But I am happy. Columbia was the halfway point and my emotional nexus. When I departed Columbia I ventured out into new territory. I don't know what's in store for tomorrow yet, I'll figure that out in the morning. Right now, time for a shower, and a well earned Scotch.

But one last thing, thank you to Jimmy Cliff and the appearance of Roadside Records in Columbia for the song below...

Jimmy Cliff/Sooner or Later http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SH9fdTberSM

It's getting to the point
Where I can't hang around no more
It's getting to the point
Where really have to open up the door

Times are changing
You better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
And you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late

Hear me now!

Heavy burden gets you down
And pressure is all around
Sit around and hesitate
Say you're waiting for a lucky break

Life's for living
Better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
Or you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late

Heavy burden gets you down
And pressure is all around
You sit around and hesitate
Say you're waiting for the lucky break

Life's for living
Better use your sense
Use what you've got
From coincidence
Hear me now!

Sooner or later you gonna have to stand up tall
Sooner or later when your backs against that wall
Sooner or later you'll have to be the one you are
Or you just might find that you're out of time
And it's just too late
